Inspiring first-time buyersFurnishing ideas is a proof-of-concept for OBOS, making it easy to view furnishing possibilities for a housing project.
The concept was developed in collaboration with two developers as part of a summer internship at BEKK Consulting. My role was leading the team as well as the design process.

OBOS requested an interactive tool for furnishing an apartment, but the typical visitor on obos.no hardly engages with prospects before reaching out to the sales division.
We therefore developed a tool for quickly viewing suggestions instead.

EARLY IDEAS
Our initial concept focused on letting users click and drag furniture, but it was abandoned due to technical challenges.

Our initial concept focused on letting users click and drag furniture, but it was abandoned due to technical challenges.
User testing revealed that the floor plans OBOS receive from architect firms often lack contrast.
We removed text and redesigned the furniture icons to be clearer and in line with OBOS´ visual identity.

We also integrating our tool with OBOS´ CMS system Sanity, making it possible to set up configurations for anyone.
